denver-new-years-eveDenver has plenty of options for summer activities, so residents never experience a dull moment. A visit to one of the state’s mineral hot springs should be on the list of everyone that is new to Denver or has yet to fully explore the area outside of the city.

The Glenwood Hot Springs tops the list of pools recommended by the Denver Post, and is the only hot springs you can reach via passenger train. Next up is the Steamboat Old Town Hot Springs, which has been a part of the local community since at least 1875. That’s before Colorado even became a state. Rounding out the top three is the Strawberry Park Hot Springs, and it is perhaps provides the best scenery of any hot spring in the state. The pool is open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and stars sure are a sight to see from there.

Already visited most of the hot springs in the state of Colorado? That’s fine – be sure to read over the 2011 Colorado Summer Activity Guide. It has everything this great state has to offer, so you are bound to find something you haven’t done.
