The Denver art scene is the place to be this winter. Two different art shows are heating up the cold Denver winter and engaging art enthusiasts with vibrant pieces, historical works, and the spirit of Latin America.

Fuera de la Frontera Housed at the McNichols Building in Denver’s Civic Center, this exhibit features works from Colorado’s foremost Latino artists. It also celebrates the reopening of the Civic Center as a public events center. The exhibit celebrates the spirit of Latino artists, regardless of medium. You will find a variety of works including graffiti art, pop art, sculpture, photography, acrylic, and a floor to ceiling three dimensional installation.

Hilos This exhibit celebrates fine and folk Latino art from across the centuries and portrays a narrative of evolving cultures. You’ll notice that the stark white walls of typical art exhibits are traded for deep yellows and golds in a nod to the richness of the artifacts and art. There are historical artifacts dating back hundreds of years and works from more legacy artists such as Diego Rivera and Jose Luis Cuevasand, and contemporary artists David Correa and Annie Lopez.

Art lovers know that Denver is an excellent place to enjoy art and our galleries and museums are committed to providing a variety of exhibits and fascinating shows that engage and unite the art community. Giving Thanks Works!

Giving Thanks Works!

Did you know that psychological research has found that people who kept weekly gratitude journals exercised more regularly, had fewer physical symptoms, felt better about their lives as a whole, and were more optimistic about their future compared to others? They were also more likely to have made progress toward important personal goals, have positive moods, and better sleep. People who practiced daily gratitude reported higher levels of alertness, enthusiasm, determination, attentiveness and energy and were more likely to have helped someone with a personal problem or offered emotional support to another. And children who practice grateful thinking have more positive attitudes towards family and school!

Improve your life. Give thanks all year long!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family, friends, clients & colleagues for their love and support.  I am very grateful to have each and everyone of you.  I am thankful for my many blessings and I hope you are all blessed with many things to be thankful on this Thanksgiving Day.

Happy Thanksgiving!
