Help the Metro Denver community prevent animal homelessness with the Dumb Friends League’s Furry Scurry two-mile walk in Washington Park on Saturday, May 7. Day-of registration for the walk begins at 7am and the walk will begin at 9am. There will be refreshments for participants before, during, and after the race.
The fun lasts until noon with pet contests including Pet/Person Look-alike, Best Pet Kisser, Best Trick, and Best Tail Wagger beginning at 9:45am. There will be over 130 vendors at the Flealess Market with tons of pet-friendly merchandise that every pet will be sure to enjoy.
Registration fee is $50 and proceeds help the Dumb Friends League provide care for 25,000 homeless pets each year. The Dumb Friends League was founded in 1910 and is named after a animal shelter in London, England that was called Our Dumb Friends League. The term “dumb” was then used to describe those that are unable to speak. The Dumb Friends League gives a voice to the animals “who cannot speak for themselves.”
