Pioneer Park Denver Colorado

Pioneer Park in Denver, Colorado will offer social walking for senior citizens twice a week throughout the summer.

Denver, Colorado is one of the most active cities in the country, and there are so many options for outdoor fitness activities that newcomers can be overwhelmed by the amount of choices. Sheba R. Wheeler of the Denver Post recently compiled a list of great fitness activities for those new to Denver; here are my picks from her fantastic list:

  • Sunset Yoga: If you are a yoga fan, the Schlessman Family YMCA offers sunset sessions on the facility’s soccer field. The sessions are free for members and $12 for non-members, which includes access to the facility for the entire day. The next sessions are June 21st, July 12th, and August 2nd from 7 to 8PM.
  • Walk and Talk at the Park (Ages 55+): Every Tuesday and Thursday from May 31st to August 18th, join your fellow senior citizens for a walk in Pioneer Park. Enjoy the activity and socializing with others from 8 to 9AM every week.
  • Outdoor Cycling Club: For all of the cycling enthusiasts, the Colorado Athletic Club Downtown will host a two-hour bike ride every third Saturday at 9AM from June to August. All experience levels are invited to take part in the ride, which is free for both members and non-members.
