homeconstructionRecent reports indicate that the Denver new home market increased over the last couple of months, and the industry hopes that it is past the bottom.

The Home Builders Association of Denver report instill the belief that the bottom is behind us, and the future looks bright. Jeff Whiton, CEO of the HBA of Denver, believes “we will continue to show some modest gains.”

For September, Denver home builders pulled 264 permits for single-family, detached homes, up 4.35 percent from September 2010. September also marked the fourth or fifth month in a row that the industry saw increases year-over-year.

The housing permits refer to future construction, so it may be a while before we see this building activity come to fruition. However, industry experts seem to be breathing a sigh of relief and are hopeful that the remainder of the year and 2012 continue to post gains.
